Freedom of Information Act Request
It is the policy of the Lapeer County Central Dispatch Department that
all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs
of this department and the official acts of those who represent it, as public
employees, consistent with the Freedom of Information Act.
Fees
A. Pursuant to Lapeer County’s Enhanced Access to Public
Records Policy Central Dispatch is required to charge a reasonable fee for
providing access to public records.
B. “Reasonable fee” means a charge calculated to enable Lapeer County to
recover, over time, only those operating expenses directly related to the public
body’s provision of access.
C. “Operating expenses” includes, but is not limited to, a public body’s direct
cost of creating, compiling, storing, maintaining, processing, upgrading, or
enhancing information or data in a form available for access, including the cost
of computer hardware and software, systems development, employee time, and the
actual cost of supplying the information or record in the form requested by the
purchaser.
D. Except as otherwise provided by act or statute, the County shall establish a
proposed reasonable fee (s) for each public record made available for access.
The proposed fee (s) shall be presented to and approved by the Board of
Commissioners before they shall be effective.
E. List of fees:
- Technician to gather record (s): Current hourly
rate for the System Administrator: $20.20
- Payroll fringes: 17.49%
- Fixed fringes: 3.35%
- Audio CD (s): $2.00 each.
- Copies of reports: $1.50 for first page, .50 cents
for each additional page.
- Postage.
